PKC BOX LACROSSE

Starting this Winter, PKC Box Lacrosse is officially launching!

​

Teams will be formed internally via the PKC Fall Evaluations, so no extra evaluations are necessary.

​

Why PKC Box?  The game speed of the 3v3 and 4v4 small-group training at PKC HQ has visibly increased everyone's decision-making speed.

​

It's also exposed those whose brains turn off after a bad play or a bad pass.  It's amazing how those walls change the tempo of the game...

​

Reaction time to GBs = increased.

Reaction time to missed catches = faster and better

Small space decision making = Faster

 

No time for bad body language because the ball is always in play.

​

The constraints presented by those walls at the PKC HQ are the exact environment every PKC kid needs to play in.  And if we do that, we will take yet another step into leveling up Kansas City lacrosse, and each individual that plays in those walls.

​

Plus, it's so much fun :)

Practices

​

PKC Box Teams will get 1/2 practices a week until tournament time (See Below).​

​

Practice locations will be held at two locations. 

 

1. One of them will be the PKC HQ, where we will focus on half-court play (Settled Offense and Defense).

2. The other location will be a futsal arena, where we can practice the full field elements of the game (Transition O, Transition D, Subbing, Faceoffs)

Wastash Box Invitational

​

We will compete at the Wastash Box Invitational in Draper, Utah on January 23 - 24.

​

Draper is a 25-minute drive to Salt Lake City and a 48-minute drive to Park City.

​

Teams that will attend this tournament will have full commitments from their teammates that they are officially in for the tournament.

 

If we can't get enough for a certain age group, we will still have box-style practices building towards an official box team.
