PKC BOX LACROSSE
Starting this Winter, PKC Box Lacrosse is officially launching!
​
Teams will be formed internally via the PKC Fall Evaluations, so no extra evaluations are necessary.
​
Why PKC Box? The game speed of the 3v3 and 4v4 small-group training at PKC HQ has visibly increased everyone's decision-making speed.
​
It's also exposed those whose brains turn off after a bad play or a bad pass. It's amazing how those walls change the tempo of the game...
​
Reaction time to GBs = increased.
Reaction time to missed catches = faster and better
Small space decision making = Faster
No time for bad body language because the ball is always in play.
​
The constraints presented by those walls at the PKC HQ are the exact environment every PKC kid needs to play in. And if we do that, we will take yet another step into leveling up Kansas City lacrosse, and each individual who plays in those walls.

Training Camp
​
PKC Box Team will get two weekends of training camp leading up to the tournaments.​
​
Three 90-minute practices at each training camp, 3 film sessions total.​
​
Those training camps will be held on the following weekends:

Michigan Box Invitational​
​
We will compete at the Michigan Box Invitational in Novi, Michigan, on January 30th & 31st at the TOCA facility, 41550 Grand River Ave, Novi, MI 48375​

Teams that attend this tournament will have full commitments from their teammates that they are officially in for the tournament.
If we can't get enough for a certain age group, we will still have the KC House Box League.

Introducing the inaugural Kansas City House Box League (KCHBL), beginning November 2026
A Message To PKC
Since starting PKC 4v4 Indoor, I quickly realized this lacrosse format is exactly what we need more of... Tight space. Smaller teams. Quicker decisions. Faster Actions. Faster Reads. Faster Brain Activity. More awareness of action. Pattern Recognition. Predictive Lacrosse thinking. And tons of fun.

But I also want to achieve a couple of more goals this Winter Season.

I want to increase the internal compete of Kansas City Lacrosse.

We need smaller internal teams with dedicated coaches who want to grow their team, compete internally with peers, and beat each other.​

I want to further break down the local community wall, enhancing better friendships throughout the community and fostering more belonging within the lacrosse community.

We must get back to the basics. The foundations... The Fundamentals... And do them extremely well, and at the speed required to be successful... No matter what field we're on.

Re-institute the proper learning cycle and Cadence (Proud Sponsor of the KCHBL).

This isn't generic AI copy-and-paste. This is a message from Brenden Surface on what I believe we need to do for Kansas City to reach the next level. I believe the program we're about to share best matches how growth, improvement, and belonging happen... Which is exactly how we breed more confident young men, and then more lacrosse players.
The secret will lie in the daily schedule. It's what we did to achieve growth at RockU, and it's the same instillation process that Nick Saban used to teach his football teams.

​The KC House Box League Format
- 4 teams. 7/8 Field players.
- Our 4 Head Coaches will draft their half-court box teams in a snake-style draft
- Training Camp to learn half-court box
- Week 1, November 10, will be training Camp. One hour for each team.
- 3-week regular season. 1-week playoffs.
- Playoffs start the week of December 15.
- 3 games on each game night.
- 15 minute games
- Each game will be filmed
- One Team will have dedicated film room time when they're not playing
- The other team will have dedicated walkthrough time when they're not playing
